BYD wins biggest ever car export order: 6,500 G3s for Iraq

Shenzhen, China – October 29, 2012 – BYD announces that it has won an order for 6,500 G3 cars from its Iraqi dealer. This is the biggest ever car export order BYD has received and is also one of the biggest export order from Iraq for Chinese auto brands.
BYD AUTO entered the Iraq market in 2010 and has since been well recognized by Iraqi customers. In May and June 2012, BYD received orders for 3,000 G3s and 2,550 F3 and F0 models from its Iraqi dealers. The G3, the first from BYD featuring advanced intelligence, is proving very popular in Iraq and many other markets due to its elegant style, generous specification and use of intelligent technology.
The 6,500 order includes 3,000 G3 models with 1.5 litre engines and manual transmission and 3,500 G3 cars with CVT (continuously variable transmission). The first batch is planned to be delivered to Iraq at the end of this October and all units by the end of this year.
